Fake online stores stealing .be domain names

Seen a good bargain online? Be careful! The web is swarming with fake online stores misappropriating existing domain names with a .be extension.

All of these fake stores boutiques have the same features: a domain name ending in .be that has nothing to do with a true online store (such as walloniepetanque.be) and a lack of company details. They also misuse existing brand names and logos.

The consumer organisation Test Achats has already unmasked 800 fake store operating along these lines. It has also asked FPS Economy to block them and to take additional measures to stop them proliferating.

Fortunately, it’s quite easy to uncover these fake stores for yourself. Click here to see the tips and tricks recommended by Test Achats.
