And the most popular password is…

Believe it or not, but the password used most frequently in 2016 was 123456. That’s according to an analysis of 10 million stolen passwords conducted by Keeper Security. In fact, almost 17% of people who go online use this extremely obvious combination. 123456 is bad enough, but the list of other commonly used passwords is equally mind-boggling: qwerty, 11111 and even (wait for it)… password! Also, four of the top ten passwords are less than six characters long.

Popular or not, these common examples are to be avoided at all costs. So, if you want to keep your account safe from intruders, then you’d better come up with a password that’s not so obvious and one that fraudsters can’t work out in an instant.
